Lands End To John OGroats For New Changing Rooms

Jack Hillman, Nick Alford and Rob Turner are taking the ambitious challenge of cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise money for the construction of new changing rooms urgently needed to continue the growth of our mini’s and youth section. Therfield heath is home to Royston Rugby and on Sunday mornings the club hosts training and games for over 250 minis (6-12 years olds) and 75 youth players (13-17 year olds). New legislation has been set in place requiring clubs to have separate changing rooms for children and adults. At present the mini’s and youth section change at the Heath Sports Clubs public changing rooms, which provides excellent facilities, but are used by children and adults alike. For the club to grow and for the youth rugby to continue new changing facilities are essential. We set off from Lands End on the 1st of September and plan to arrive in John O’Groats 10 days later on Wednesday 10th staying in YHA hostel and Bed and Breakfasts over night. The route we are taking is just under 1,000 miles which requires us to cover 100 miles a day on average. Adding to the challenge all three bikes being used have been bought for under £35. The New changing rooms are being built at a cost of £120,000 which will be partly funded by the RFU (Rugby Football Union). We would like to ask you to help toward this target by sponsoring us on this truly demanding challenge. If you would like to donate money please email jack.hillman30@hotmail.co.uk or nick.alford@hotmail.co.uk with the following details: - Name, Email, Home Address and an amount you would like to sponsor. In return you will be emailed with news letters leading up to and on completion of the ride. If you know of or work for any business that would be interested in sponsoring us then please email a contact name, address and telephone number so that we can send a formal sponsorship opportunity letter to them.
